The Rot-Court is the central legal cavern of Beneath-Root and the beating heart of the Law of Rot. Its floor is rich black loam dotted with amber fungus and shallow pits where bark tablets are pressed and left to decompose.
Laws that rot away are considered ended; those that sprout lichen or new shoots are read as endorsements from the Hollow. Court sessions resemble gardening as much as trial, with advocates arguing not only their case but how it will feed or starve the community's future.
