Totem-Echoes occur when carved spirit-totems across the Ohlai Steppe replay ancestral vows. Outsiders standing nearby may hear contracts they cannot read, yet find themselves mysteriously bound to their terms.
Only Orc cantors trained in bone-song can safely release or reinterpret such echoes. Many caravans hire a cantor specifically to negotiate with troublesome totems along their route.
