Silence of the Gears is the Deepclock observance in Aeterron. For thirty hours, all civic machines halt, trams idle, and workshops go dark. Clanks ritually depower themselves, trusting companions to restart them at dawn.

Flesh-folk walk the streets in contemplative silence, listening to wind and water without the overlay of engines. When the vigil ends, the Republic roars back to life in synchronized ignition, reaffirming its covenant with both stillness and motion.
