Stonewail Rise

The Stonewail Rise is the volcanic mountain range that forms Tarkhos Dominion's ember-forged spine. Ore veins threaded through its jagged ridges feed the embersteel furnaces that make Tarkhos famous across Velthuryn. Glacier-fed valleys hide mining enclaves and furnace-towns, while higher passes carry the Ridge-Pass Emberway and other perilous trade routes.

Resonance-quakes known as Stonewail Quakes occasionally convulse the Rise, opening fissures of molten ore or collapsing entire caravan roads. Local lore claims each quake is the "oath-shudder" of the fire titan whose fossil bones formed Skarov's Spine, reminding the Dominion that all oaths and all stone can still move under pressure.
