Groan of the Hollow Sun is the name given to a deep tone that rolls across the Nokhul Vale at some new-moon dawns. The valley floor trembles in time with the sound, rattling root-cellars and law-stones alike.
Many claim it is the planet itself exhaling grief through buried caverns. Root-Oracles fear that if the note ever swells unchecked, it might crack the law-roots and unbind the Vale's covenants. Others seek the source as a potential instrument of great power.
